AEO Ultimate for Webflow

When something looks wrong

This edition is still in build

The Webflow app is not generally available yet. This page covers what exists today and will grow as the app does — including its error messages, which are currently thinner than the other editions.

Authorisation failed, or the app cannot see my site

“Access token is required to create a Webflow API client” means the OAuth connection has not completed or has lapsed. The app reaches Webflow entirely through their Data API, so with no token it can see nothing at all.

Reconnect by starting the install flow again. If authorisation fails partway, the error page shown at that point is the most specific information available — take a note of it before navigating away.

A CMS item cannot be found

“CMS item with ID [id] not found in this collection” is usually one of three things: the item was deleted, it lives in a different collection than the one being addressed, or you are pointing at a draft rather than a published item.

“Collection ID is required” and “Collection ID and Item ID are required parameters” mean a request arrived without enough to identify what to act on — normally a stale browser tab holding an ID from a collection that has since changed. Reload and retry.

Nothing was updated when I published

“No fields provided for update. Provide metaTitle, metaDescription, schemaMarkup, or fieldData.” The request carried no changes, so nothing was written. That is a refusal to make an empty write rather than a failure.

Note that schema publishing through Webflow’s Data API is currently detection-only in places — the app can read and report what a page carries without being able to write it back. Where that applies you will see a note saying so rather than a silent no-op.

An AI feature says the key is not configured

“Anthropic API key is not configured”, and the same for OpenAI and Gemini. Each provider is separate — configuring one does not configure the others.

“Unsupported AI provider” means a provider was selected that this edition does not implement yet. Webflow currently supports fewer providers than the WordPress and WooCommerce editions.

“Title and content are required to generate a press release” is what it says — the generator will not invent a subject from nothing.

I got a message that reads like code

Some failures in this edition currently surface the underlying technical error rather than a written explanation, so you may see something that looks like a developer message. That is a gap in the app, not something you have done wrong.

If you hit one, send it over — those are exactly the cases being replaced with proper messages, and knowing which ones people actually encounter decides the order they get fixed in.

What the app can do today

OAuth install against your Webflow account, an AI-readiness scan for a URL, a signal bundle it can generate and apply, and a keyed connector for the agency hub. Sitemaps, IndexNow submission and citation directory lookups are present as services.

If you want to be told when it ships, say so — there is no list to join, I will just tell you.
