The RAG Engine is part of AEO Ultimate’s Pro plan: merchants add their product documents (spec sheets, manuals, care guides, certificates, safety data sheets) and see which facts in those documents are missing from their product pages, and which customer questions and searches those facts could answer. It adds to, and does not replace, the privacy policy of the AEO Ultimate app you installed (for Shopify: [store.aeoultimate.app/privacy](https://store.aeoultimate.app/privacy)). ## The short version - **Your files never reach our server.** Documents are read inside your own browser. Only the text taken from them is sent to us. - We keep that text, split into short passages, so it can be searched. We keep nothing else from the file. - The service is for product and business documents. It does not collect information about your customers. - Your text is deleted when you delete the document, when you uninstall the app, or 90 days after you leave the Pro plan. - We never sell your documents, use them for advertising, or use them to train any AI model. ## 1. Those keys stay with the AEO Ultimate app, and the RAG Engine never holds them. ## 2. What you must not upload Do not upload documents containing other people’s personal information (customer lists, orders, addresses, medical or financial records), passwords, or anything you are not allowed to share with a service provider. The RAG Engine is built for product and business documents. If personal information does reach us, tell us and we will delete it. ## 3. How we use it - To search your passages and match them with your product pages, searches and AI-visibility results inside the app. - To show you suggested text to copy, always credited to the document it came from. - To keep the service secure and running, and to fix problems you report. People on our team do not read your documents except to resolve a support request you raise, with your permission, or where the law requires it. ## 4. When document text is sent to someone else - **Optional AI labelling.** Only if you switch it on for a document: roughly the first 8,000 characters are sent to *your own* AI provider (the one whose key you gave the app) so it can label the document’s type. Nothing is sent without that switch. - **Law and code check.** For a document labelled as a law or code: only its citation, place and date go to your chosen search provider. The document’s text is never sent. - **Hosting.** The service runs on a server we operate, rented from Liquid Web, L.L.C. in the United States. We share nothing else, and we sell nothing. ## 5. How long we keep it | When | What happens | | --- | --- | | You delete a document | Its passages and details are deleted right away. | | You uninstall the app | Everything for your store is deleted when the platform sends us its data-erasure request (for Shopify, about 48 hours after uninstall). | | You leave the Pro plan, or a Pro trial ends without a paid plan | Your documents are hidden and kept for 90 days in case you come back. After 90 days they are deleted. | | Backups | Deleted data leaves our backups within 14 days as older backups expire. | ## 6. Security All traffic to the service is encrypted (HTTPS). Every request from the app is signed and checked, so only the AEO Ultimate app can read or change your store’s data. The database cannot be reached from the internet, and each store’s data is kept apart. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and limit who can reach it. ## 7. Your rights You can see and delete your documents at any time in the app. Depending on where you are, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA may give you further rights to access, correct, export or delete your data.
